Icelandair has proudly welcomed its first Airbus A321LR to its fleet, equipped with innovative seating solutions from the renowned Italian manufacturer Geven. This delivery marks a significant milestone as Icelandair becomes the first airline to feature Geven’s New Comoda seats with the Materia Pack for Business Class and Elemento seats for Economy Class, both integrated with Panasonic’s cutting-edge Astrova In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system.

Redefining Business and Economy Class Comfort

The New Comoda seats in Business Class have been custom-designed to align with Icelandair's brand identity, offering an elevated travel experience. Key features include:

• Cradle Functionality: Ensures optimal comfort for long-haul flights.
• Ample Storage: A spacious central console provides practical storage solutions.
• Enhanced Privacy: Thoughtfully designed elements for a more private seating experience.

For Economy Class, Geven’s Elemento seats debut on a narrow-body aircraft, offering comfort and style while integrating advanced technology.

First-Time Integration of Astrova IFE by Panasonic

One of the most notable highlights of the new A321LR is the first-ever integration of Panasonic’s Astrova IFE solution with Geven’s seating. Passengers in Business Class can enjoy 16-inch OLED Astrova monitors, while those in Economy Class benefit from 13.3-inch screens. These lightweight, high-resolution screens enhance the passenger experience, combining innovative design with exceptional performance.

A Collaborative Success

The collaboration between Geven and Panasonic began in July 2023, and within just 12 months, the seating and IFE systems were certified for both the New Comoda – Materia Pack and Elemento. This quick turnaround highlights the expertise and dedication of both partners.
