Jan 24, 2025Emirates Introduces New Uniform for Premium & VIP Passenger Services Team
Emirates has officially launched a new uniform for its Premium & VIP Passenger Services team, a dedicated unit responsible for ensuring the smooth transit of premium and VIP passengers through Dubai International Airport (DXB). While the uniform draws inspiration from the iconic Emirates cabin crew attire, it is uniquely designed to represent the airline’s elite team, which caters to high-profile clientele.
Dubai, renowned as a top destination for high-net-worth individuals and a global hub for world-class meetings, conferences, and events, sees the Premium & VIP Passenger Services team in high demand. The new sophisticated uniform reflects the elevated level of service and attention to detail that Emirates provides to its premium and VIP customers, whether they are arriving in Dubai, departing, or transiting through.

Designed in-house by Emirates’ uniform standards team, the collection features three variations: a stylish A-line skirt suit for women, a chic pantsuit for women, and a tailored three-piece suit for men. Like the cabin crew uniform, the VIP Passenger Services attire is crafted in a warm sand hue, symbolizing the desert dunes of the UAE. For women, the design includes a subtle red collar and matching cuffs, complemented by the iconic Emirates red hat with a gold pin and a cream chiffon scarf that reflects local culture. The outfit is completed with red leather shoes and matching handbags, which allow Ambassadors to carry iPads and essential documents for their clients. A distinctive red pleat in the A-line skirt ensures comfort and ease of movement for the Ambassadors as they navigate the airport, while a red leather belt adds a touch of elegance. For men, the made-to-measure suit includes a jacket, trousers, and waistcoat, accented with a red pocket square and a muted tie.

The 145-member team at Emirates has undergone rigorous training to handle high-profile VIP passengers and premium First-Class connecting travelers at Dubai International Airport. Each year, the team serves over 150,000 premium and VIP passengers with exceptional hospitality. The team comprises 120 Ambassadors and additional operational staff at the Control Centre, representing over 50 nationalities and speaking a wide range of languages to cater to the diverse international clientele.
The VIP Passenger Services team assists a wide array of distinguished travelers, including members of royal families, presidents, former heads of state, international ministers, ambassadors, celebrities, athletes, actors, and globally recognized influencers. In addition to managing regular VIP travel, the team meticulously plans for major international events that attract high levels of VIP traffic, such as the World Government Summit, Formula 1, Dubai World Cup, Dubai Film Festival, and global events like the G20 Summit, EXPO 2025, and the World Sustainable Development Summit.
First-Class passengers also benefit from a seamless transit experience in Dubai. Connecting travelers enjoy dedicated services, including expedited security checks and personalized escorts to their departure lounges.
The day for the Premium & VIP Passenger Services team begins with a briefing at the Control Centre, where they review the number of premium and VIP movements expected during their shift. The team is divided into two units: one manages Premium First-Class connecting passengers airside, while the other handles high-profile VIP customers. The VIP team oversees pick-ups, drop-offs, check-in, airport transportation, lounge access, and arrival formalities, ensuring privacy, security, and a smooth journey. They expertly coordinate connections, often under tight time constraints. Meanwhile, the Premium team delivers a first-class experience for connecting passengers, offering personalized greetings, expedited security checks, and premium transfers using Mercedes Viano vehicles or buggies, depending on gate distances and connection times.
Throughout the day, both teams demonstrate their ability to handle unexpected challenges, such as last-minute itinerary changes or operational disruptions, with quick thinking and proactive solutions. As the shift concludes, the team maintains its focus, finalizing daily reports and preparing the incoming shift with necessary updates to ensure consistent and uninterrupted service.
Through meticulous planning, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence, the Premium & VIP Passenger Services team ensures that Emirates’ world-class hospitality is delivered seamlessly to its distinguished passengers, keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.
