British Airways Expands Global Network for Summer 2025 with New Routes to Kuala Lumpur and Tbilisi

Apr 10, 2025

British Airways continues to elevate the travel experience for global jet-setters with the launch of two exciting destinations this summer — Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia’s thriving capital, and Tbilisi, the vibrant cultural heart of Georgia.

These additions mark a strategic expansion of British Airways’ global network, offering discerning travelers enhanced options for both business and leisure. А

Kuala Lumpur Returns to the BA Network

After a five-year hiatus, British Airways has resumed direct flights between London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur, one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic capitals. The inaugural flight touched down on April 2, 2025, welcomed with a celebratory reception and premium touches for arriving passengers.

The route will operate daily using the airline’s modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering a choice of four cabins:

  • First Class
  • Club World (Business Class)
  • World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy)
  • World Traveller (Economy)

Return fares start from £574, making this a competitive and luxurious gateway into Asia. Thanks to the enhanced codeshare partnership with Malaysia Airlines , travelers can now enjoy seamless, single-ticket itineraries onward to Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand , and beyond.

Tbilisi Rejoins the Network After 12 Years

British Airways also celebrates the return of Tbilisi to its European schedule, reconnecting London with Georgia’s capital city for the first time since 2013. Starting March 30, the route operates four times per week, departing from London Heathrow and offering return fares.

Tbilisi, a city where Europe and Asia converge, offers a rich blend of ancient traditions, modern art, celebrated cuisine, and its UNESCO-recognized 8,000-year-old winemaking heritage.

Customers flying to Tbilisi can select from Club Europe (Business Class) or Euro Traveller (Economy), with business travelers enjoying lounge access, gourmet dining, priority services, and generous baggage allowances.

Additional Network Enhancements

British Airways is also strengthening its global footprint this summer with the following upgrades:

  • Tokyo Haneda: Increased to twice-daily service from March 30, 2025, with one daily flight operated by the fuel-efficient A350 aircraft featuring the Club Suite for ultimate privacy and comfort.
  • New Italian Destinations:
    • Rimini (from May 15, via Heathrow)
    • Salerno (from May 22, via Gatwick)
    • Olbia (from May 25, via London City)
  • Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Nearly double the capacity with 80,000 additional seats and near-daily frequencies to enhance business and tourism links.
